How much is the deposit and is it refundable?
A $500 non-refundable deposit secures your kitten and removes them from availability. The deposit is processed securely through Stripe and applied toward the final balance. The balance is due before pickup, delivery, or travel.
Deposits are refundable in only three cases: (1) the breeder is unable to deliver a healthy kitten for any reason; (2) the kitten fails a pre-travel vet exam; (3) mutual cancellation within 48 hours of deposit.
What vaccinations and health tests are included?
Every kitten leaves with:
- FVRCP vaccinations (feline herpes, calicivirus, panleukopenia) — age-appropriate dosing
- FIV/FeLV test — negative result documented
- Full deworming protocol (fenbendazole + praziquantel)
- Vet health certificate issued within 10 days of travel
- Pet passport (for EU-origin kittens) with travel vaccinations
- Microchip (on request, included at $45)
Rabies vaccination is given at 12 weeks per standard US veterinary protocol — younger kittens will have rabies scheduled but not yet administered.
How does delivery work?
We offer four delivery options:
1. Self-pickup (free) — meet us at our cattery by appointment
2. Ground transport ($150–$450) — climate-controlled vehicle, door-to-door within 1,500 miles, 1–3 days
3. Air cargo ($550–$950) — direct flight, major US airports and international
4. Flight nanny ($1,200–$1,800) — premium option, kitten flies in-cabin with a dedicated handler
For EU-origin kittens, air cargo or flight nanny is required. All paperwork (USDA entry clearance, pet passport, health certificate) is handled for you.
What does the 1-year health guarantee cover?
Our 12-month genetic health guarantee covers life-threatening congenital or genetic defects that would require euthanasia or substantially compromise the kitten's quality of life. Covered conditions include HCM, PKD, FIV/FeLV, PK-Def (for Bengal), and breed-specific genetic disorders confirmed by licensed veterinary diagnosis.
If such a condition is diagnosed within 12 months of adoption, we replace the kitten with a comparable kitten from an upcoming litter, or refund the full purchase price. Vet documentation is required. The guarantee does not cover injuries, accidents, parasites, or common illnesses like upper respiratory infections.
Are kittens registered? Can I get a pedigree?
Yes. Every kitten we place is registered with TICA, CFA, WCF, or FIFe (depending on breed and cattery origin). For our own Maine Coon kittens, we use TICA. For European imports, registration is typically WCF or FIFe.
Pedigree documentation is either included outright (show-quality kittens) or available on request with a $50–100 add-on (pet-quality kittens sold on spay/neuter agreement). Breeding rights are sold separately and typically require an additional $500–1,500 premium.
At what age do kittens go home?
Never before 12 weeks for US-born kittens, and never before 16 weeks for imported kittens (required by APHIS/USDA and most airlines). Younger kittens have weaker immune systems, incomplete socialization, and cannot legally travel internationally.
Older kitten placement (4–6 months) is sometimes available and is actually preferred by many families — the kitten is fully weaned, litter-trained, vaccinated, and personality is clearly established.
Are kittens spayed/neutered before going home?
Pet-quality kittens are sold on a spay/neuter contract. We ask that you spay/neuter before 6 months of age and send us documentation from your vet. This is standard ethical breeding practice and protects the breed.
Breeding-rights kittens are sold intact with full pedigree and breeding clauses in the contract.
What payment methods do you accept?
Deposits: $500 via Stripe (credit card or debit, secure hosted checkout).
Final balance: Bank wire / ACH, Zelle, Venmo, or in-person cash for self-pickup. We do not accept cryptocurrency or gift cards — these are common scam vectors in the cat community, and we avoid them for buyer protection.
For high-value purchases ($4,000+), we can set up a 3-payment installment plan with Stripe. Contact us to arrange.
How do I know you're not a scam?
Cat scams are unfortunately common. Here's how to verify us:
- Registered business — we're a US-registered entity (full docs on our Proof of Legitimacy page)
- Stripe payments — Stripe requires verified business identity; any Stripe-hosted checkout is traceable
- Video call with the breeder and the kitten before you pay — standard practice
- Partner cattery transparency — every imported kitten's source cattery is named with registration numbers
- Google/Trustpilot reviews — visible on the site, verified
- Pedigree and vet paperwork — verifiable with the issuing registry
Red flags we avoid: request for gift cards, crypto, wire to a personal name, or "shipping fee" charged after the sale.
Do you offer discounts for adopting two kittens?
Yes. Kittens are naturally happier in pairs, especially high-energy breeds (Bengal, Sphynx, Siamese, Oriental). For two kittens adopted together, we offer a $300 discount per kitten. For siblings from the same litter, the discount is $500 per kitten.
The health guarantee, documentation, and delivery packages apply individually to each kitten.
Do you ship internationally (outside the US)?
Yes — we regularly deliver to Canada, the UK, EU countries, Australia, and the UAE. International delivery requires:
- Destination-country import permit (we handle paperwork)
- Veterinary health certificate (destination-specific)
- Pet passport with travel vaccinations
- Flight nanny or air cargo — we do not recommend ground transport across borders
International shipping adds $800–$2,500 depending on destination, carrier, and transit time. Contact us before reserving to confirm we can deliver to your country.
What support do you offer after the kitten arrives?
Every adoption includes lifetime support:
- First 30 days: daily check-ins available by phone, text, or WhatsApp
- Ongoing: 7-days-a-week contact for any care, behavior, nutrition, or vet questions
- Referrals: vet recommendations in your area if you don't have one
- Breeder community: access to our closed owner group (photo-sharing, breed advice, meetups)
- Rehoming support: if your life circumstances ever change, we take the cat back at any age. We will not let a Meowster kitten end up in a shelter.
